This Roth lava jug is a fine example of mid century West German pottery.
Roth Keramik was situated at the epicentre of the West German ceramics industry. Although smaller than many of its rivals, it is famed for producing some of the era's most distinctive vases and jugs. As a result, Roth pottery has become extremely collectible in recent years.
The jug’s thick, lava glaze gives it a tactile quality. It can be used as a vase for short-stemmed flowers or as a standalone decorator item.
